That's an excellent link Jossette, but here's a thought from that.
Let's just say the 50m shares have been sold on-market at prices between $11.50 and today's price of $12.50 (say an average of $12).
If the result comes in strong, the share price rises, the shorters will need to buy on-market to cover their positions.
But if the result comes in poor, the share price is slammed, the shorters will not need as much coin to buy the coverings and will profit from the difference.
I have written from time to time about QBE, but this result or outlook will not be a JB HiFi moment.
