The ASX short sell list shows:

BNB BABCOCK & BROWN LIMITED FPO 3,646,059 33,330,022 1.09

ie. 3.6M shares shorted from a possible 33M available from official shorting.

However, most of the shorting would be done with a basis from share borrowings. 10% of the available BNB shares are available for shorting through official ASX means, but you have very limited rules for using that.

The fact that only 10% of the available short stock is out (and this has risen in the last few days) should be a burning example that ASX short stock is not being used predominantly.
