(Assuming domestic violence is taken to mean 'wife battery' as opposed to mum beating the shite out the kids... as they so often do. ) Sure, the women have had to take the punches, and pathways need to be ever opened and secured for women to escape any physical abuse...
Secure pathways to amicable divorce, would be a plus.
Personally in the selection of lesser evils I'd rate a bloodied nose or blackened eye, to the endless forever psychological undermining thumbscrew of a women scorned.
