Am I wrong in thinking that the access costs at Ballarat are low due to the presence of existing workings? In my uninformed opinion 40m to get from existing workings to the Basking Fault target does not seem a long way to go.
Unlike some other companies, existing underground workings and equipment to work them essentially come for free.
Also I note that in this came the quality of management input does not always correspond to results. Bad decisions can lead to good results just as good decisions can lead to bad results. Mining engineers also learn from experience and Matthew has a lot of experience. He will be accutely aware of cost management issues, the cost impacts of sequencing decisions etc, etc.
cheers
