nice to see a little green

Isn't it amazing what a few days of green from our Yanky mates does to our market. How long it will last is another question.

I just find it absurd that our economy here is ticking along fairly well, although I would have to consed a very good argument could be made that retail is not good - everyone is busy saving/reducing debt and not spending. We keep on getting profit downgrades coming from industrial stocks. Clearly we have a two speed economy. We are also losing engineers to the mining sector.

Are we ever here going to be a little free-er from the US foot hold ? a little like china's and others that buy our metals and other goods. Are we ever here going to have a "gut full" and stop following, with many times over shooting the US basket case economy and sentiment.
