Even if we look as close in as this week just gone.
First set of arrows (Tuesday) show price closing where it opened on very high volume ie selling pressue.
Second set of arrows (Friday) shows price making gains and not so much volume ie far less selling pressure.
It may have closed off it's high due to 'customary' late Friday liquidation of short term positions. Had this been a different day perhaps it would have closed near it's high.
