12:43 - new announcement appears in comsec site, but cant be read for another few minutes 13:00 - CNP comes out of trading halt, trading starts, shareprice rises 20% 13:15 to 13:30 - the average guy has a chance to work out what is really going on and the selloff starts 14:00 - the realisation has sunk in that this is a not a good deal and the shareprice falls 30% to end up -10% for the day
Think it would have been a more decent way to make the announcements about 2-3 hours earlier to give everybody a chance to read it and be fully informed before the trading recommenced
