Lol, even as a "porch monkey" it's not too hard too understand that BN would not want some foreign politician wandering in as the country moves into election mode and providing some "legitimacy" in the Oppn press for Anwar's propaganda.

Last time this "porch monkey" looked around the UN provided a rather experienced, neutral service monitoring elections.

Why has Anwar not called on the UN to monitor Malaysian elections? Maybe they can't be manipulated like individuals.

Why was Bob Carr not the slightest bit interested in getting involved at Anwar's bleat for "support".

This "porch monkey" reckons Nick the X's ego was too big for him to work out any of the above. Obviously he couldn't care less re the two Australian companies severely disadvantaged by Oppn. propaganda.

This "porch monkey" concludes that there is a fair measure of corruption on both sides and Australian domestic politicians (Nick was only one of group) have no business wandering in to play God, particularly after the Foreign Minister said pretty much that.

Pretty clear Nick the X was supporting Anwar and that, from this "porch monkey's" POV, is definitely not in Lynas's best interests, hence the opinions of those here.
