Nickel may be in trouble as noted but also remember that Lithium concentration uses the byproduct of sulphuric acid for processing from nickel smelters. if BHP closes the nickel processing facility in Kalgoorlie one can only imagine the impact on the new lithium processor also being built in Kalgoorlie? Especially as the sulphuric acid is in short supply already from other sources and potentially will create cost and supply issues for the new facility being built. What will happen if the Eastern Goldfields region goes down and is only left with gold mining to keep the region alive.
