A few things wrong with this post @rusty02.
1) ".... and mg for stability ..." I think you mean manganese, i.e. Mn.
2) There is credible R&D being done to develop a battery with no cobalt. So it cannot be ruled out. However, like any new tech, commercialisation will take time.
3) Sconi is a nickel laterite mine. Basic error there.
4) If the Ni/Co ratio of the resource/reserve is indeed 8:1, it is merely a coincidence that this is the same as the current 8:1 ratio of NCM cathode material. It is not an advantage that Sconi has or the "optimum" mix.
