Not confusing it at all!
Every share consolidation I've witnessed results in long-term supports being worse off financially just a fact. Hope it doesn't happen myself.
Imo share consolidations erodes confidence in a management motives are they there to promote loyal shareholder wealth or other reasons would be the question other investors thinking of buying in ask themselves.
