Thought you might be interested in an update of my last month's spot price stats from the Bloomberg terminal.
2006 Ni Average US$16,378 A$22,007 (May 22)
2006 Ni Average US$17,163 A$23,051 (June 23)
2005 Ni Average US$14,765 A$19,349
Latest Difference US$2,398 A$3,612
Obviously, the difference will be an increase in net profit over last year.
As an example, if MRE produces a modest 32,000 tonnes this year at these prices (19,200 at 60% equity), this would result in an additional profit of almost A$70 Million or 15 cents a share due just to the increase in the nickel price.
