    I think you are missing the point, or you just do no fully understand the situation. Mining underground IS NOT CONTINUED AS NORMAL, there are a loss of 2 shifts, so how can it be normal?

    Mill operations are down 2 shifts therefore = 2 weeks of day/night and third week of nothing. I don't know which country you might be in, but there is no company anywhere in the world that I know of will want 1 week of no productions, that is exactly like giving everyone onsite a 4 month holiday.

    Really, think about it before you comment. Yes, lay off is needed but not to the point of losing shifts. My original point was that, money was wasted when it was plentiful, bad mistake was made and it cannot be corrected. Cost cutting only happend because the directors told the mine super to cut cost. I don't know what kind of a businessman most of the readers are, but cost cutting should have always happend on day one, not at the nth hour.
