It is already happening - I remember when AU was lambasting Indonesian nickel and banging on about how we have "Class 1 Nickel" as required by EVs. Then along came the Chinese with new technology to convert Class 2 into Class 1 Nickel. The Indonesians enacted laws to restrict the export of raw ores - to encourage downstream processing within their country - up skill, etc

The WTO wasn't happy but why shouldn't they advance & diversify their economy, meanwhile AU kept doing what it has done for the last 40 years - low interest rates have allowed muppets to keep running companies for far too long backed by poor AU policy.

Better to send kids to footy coaches and don't worry about all that book learnin and stuff
