Most of the worlds electric cars including most of the Chinese electric cars are now replacing lithium with nickel for their batteries in electric cars.
Nickel charges in 25 minutes and keeps 80% of its charge after 5 years where Lithium goes lower and lower until it can't re charge any more.
They are calling these newer nickel cars the tesla killers.
Its where all the investment is going now.
Nickel batteries for power walls as well as many other uses will replace lithium.
Out of the 3 billion cars sold last year only 2 million were electric world wide. They are now predicting by 2025 it will be 10 million cars but most will be nickel based for electric cars.
