Maybe someone could shed some further light but from what I remember the plan was to mine Copernicus and to further explore Copernicus at depth.

Like Garbalda says, it is not costing much on C&M and THX has plenty of cash at the present time but I am sure an operating Copernicus with some nice cashflow would come in very handy down the track.

THX has so many nice projects to work on that are going to require some cash. The reality is that when the Trilogy spin off / float wa scrapped , so was a source of funds.

I hope that in the not too distant future management is able to realsie on Copernicus either through PAN kicking it off again or selling the 40% share back to PAN as Azworkinit has suggested.
