I reckon it it because Gold is a safe haven that most countries are rushing to because trumpy is doing his darndest to implode the USD and remove it from its NO.1 reserve currency status, whereas nickel is just smoke and mirrors and we are NOT heading for a soft landing. Just a hunch.
