Sav-J, one must agree, speculative discussion can be profitable so long as it is not reduced to wishful thinking, as seems to be the case with some stocks discussed here.

Given that Nido have a long history of conservative reporting, coupled with a regularity on things to do with progress milestones, it seems reasonable to take them on face value. That is, if they report something by way of an ASX release, then it should be taken as an honest appraisal on their part. Opposed to some of the ASX sales rubbish we often hear from ramping directors wanting a good looking price chart in order to get project finance.

In Nidos case, I think if we take their resource minima as base points, then add some, we should end up with a pretty fair idea of how small they could ever be. Which at the moment looks to be an awful lot bigger than they are now.

There is no doubt they have a mighty big page in front of them and have reached a point where they need an elephant sized partner to get things done, so the next thing to look for is how quick the partnership uptake is, and the credentials of their suitor. No doubt a partnership will take time, but the rewards by way of endorsement to shareholders could be enormous.

All the while, bearing in mind, this could be a dangerous game for Nido because an oil major might want to swallow them.

At what price - What would they care when oil is getting scarcer by the day.

Proof of this may be readily found by looking at some of the more modest target bodies in the Gulf of Mexico, where projects cost billions, and the drilling extends to many kilometres to get at resources smaller than what Nido think they have
