Once upon a time ,2 business owners asked their respective managers to be partners & buy part of the business.
We can't watch you all the time,the owners said.
We are busy ... we have families...we want peace of mind that you you are looking after our interests as well as yours.
The 1st manager said... sure,boss.
You have always looked after me...paid me well...even as good as boys working for much bigger businesses....the business is small,but I'm sure we can turn it around...thanks for the offer,boss.
He became a partner...worked harder..the business made lots of money...the owner & the manager bought waterfront mansions...they lived happily ever after.
The 2nd manager said...sorry,boss.
Your business sucks...I don't have enough money...I have other important things to do with my money.
Trust me,boss....I'll do my best...I still have 2 years in my contract...anyway you don't have the guts to sack me..you don't even have the power.
The 2nd manager kept working as "hard" as he ever did...he managed to keep the business solvent with the help of a few tricks...the owner lost a lot of money...he sold his little shack..." thank God for the Salvos".
the manager,to everyone's surprise & disgust,lived happily ever after.
