Lappy, it's clear that Abbott and his government are under fire not only from progressives but from their own constituency, the right. This weeks attacks on Abbott by Bolt, Jones and other traditional supporters shows that Abbotts failures tonegotiate with minor parties as evidenced by his inability to push through his budget measures is costing him. Further, his hopes that by concentrating on foreign policy issues he could distract the electorate from his domestic failures has proven false.

What we are seeing is the consequence of lies to his own people, ineptitude and government by ideology. Abbotts inability to successfully negotiate deals, means the government is essentially paralyzed. This is a far cry from Gillards ability, even with a hung parliament to push much legislation through even with a truculent Abbott opposing her.

The issues go deeper. Abbott is quite prepared to sacrifice Australian troops (while cutting their pay) on the alter of a failed Middle Eastern strategy while being slow and recalcitrant to give help and succour to Ebola riven African countries. The man has no moral principles which says volumes about his religious affiliations.

It's clear Abbott will be a one-term PM.
