I don't fly much domestically but fly often to NZ. Used to go Qantas all the time but the service and condition of the planes into Christchurch/Wellington was ordinary. Switched to Air NZ a couple of years back, new planes, friendly staff and a better lounge.
QAN has milked loyalty for many many years without actually delivering much in return in terms of price and service. They regularly dilute FF points not that they can be easily used anyway.
They really don't deserve any loyalty as a national carrier. Instead they have gone out of their way to crush upstarts.
