Not sure that's true about ASX. I use them in the field and have found that they can be within 10% accuracy for RC chips. The point is that they tell you what elements are present and potential concentrations. TNG didn't have to quantify the results, they only needed to indicate if any metals of interest were present. Mind you a geo worth his salt should be able to identify them visually anyway.
