The stake alledgedly being sold so i am led to believe is his BEE component which is a separate holding to the shares held directly in Genorah . As you would know BEE shareholdings can only be sold to other BEE participants . Irrespective of how quickly a mine gets going return on the BEE holding could be years away . The chinese cannot acquire the BEE share. The gentleman in question supposedly is still keeping his nkp shares he holds in Genorah which runs contrary to what you are elluding to . The chinese can acquire these shares and your friend obvioulsy sees some value in keeping them and not selling all his interests in NKP.
