NKP may not be happy with $1.50 given the future potential.....dunno.
1 bill sounds a lot, except when you start adding up 100M ounces (probable future total) x $1550.......$155 bill.

Are NKP willing to give away the whole shebang for $10 an ounce, when each ounce could currently/soon earn $800?

Maybe....cash talks.

As metal prices rise X can even derisk the project by hedging as soon as they sign the deal.....the rents going up, but not the purchase price.....from their perspective, no harm in waiting if that is the case.
Don't know their reasons.....but on the other hand, if NKP was a dud would they have hung around this long already?

i hope they are haggling as we speak, but have no idea.

But surely as the metals rise monthly, the project becomes more and more attractive, unless there is some glaring mistake in the costs info we have thus far.
If everything is in order, then the longer they wait, the more likely another bidder comes along as well.

It would be interesting to know the details of the previous deals they walked away from.....size of deposit, grade, metal prices at time etc.

if this is just another "also ran" like the others they have rejected, wouldn't they know by now?
And wouldn't friends of friends quietly mention it to some big holders?.....Top 40 are happy.
