This article did get me thinking though.
What if it had been true, and the news had leaked through the Indian press today. What would happen to the SP short term?
Do you think short term punters will be solely looking at the cash offered?
Say if NMDC pays $15m, SP goes down? If they pay $20m SP remains flat, and it will only really run if they pay $30m+?
I'm afraid this stock will not re-rate on the JV announcement, as some people are expecting. I fear it will go into hibernation after the contract is signed...
Who knows how long the BFS will take and who knows when the Indians will actually get serious about arranging financing? Based on this whole MOU debacle, I'm not holding my breath when it comes to NMDC getting things done.
Is Sandpiper then this stock's best chance?
