Oz. Zinifex (ZFX), the zinc miner that everyone ignored a year ago has continued to soar to new heights. It added another A61 cents (14.3 per cent) to A$4.88, including a A17 cent gain on Friday alone. The zinc price is the main driver behind the stock, but it’s also being buoyed by talk that it will team up with Haddington Resources (HDN) to buy the tantalum interests of the failed Sons of Gwalia. That speculation helped Haddington deliver the stand-out gain of the week, up 60 per cent (A14 cents) to A37 cents, which is a terrific gain, though it should be noted that the stock is still only capped at A$20 million.
