So some other analysts also not convinced with the ‘battery’ on BD.
Tesla made some amazing engineering developments but the battery materials was a shore too far.
Plus there was a lot of bluff going on , to get the best price you tell suppliers you can get it cheaper or make it yrself. So lithium from clay without water? No cobalt claim will certainly allow them better negotiations. In all that still makes a cheaper batttery for them.
Their cathode in development possibly at least a year away, the silicon anode ? Years.
Then after that there’s pilot plants ,fitting into a production regime, then upscaling ....So in the meantime guess what they’ll be using, more if the same.

Meanwhile Novonix is already in production in anode and preparation for scaling up.
Their single cathode is in pilot scale and commercialisation. Their electrolyte as well.
All demonstratable and under patent.With interested parties looking to help them faster to production
