fingerling - you are correct, Stirling Deeps project was to see if there was a massive high quality deposit of Copper and other metals, deep beneath the Mt Peak Vanadium resource layer.
The drilling was part funded by NT Government and did take place late in 2009. However the two drill holes stopped short of the planned depth as I don't think the results they were getting were not that promising. Samples were going to be further analysed.
I suspect Stirling Deeps faded into the background soon after the drilling, because of the discovery of better Copper prospects in the North West area of Mt Peak and the excitement back then, around the results from drilling for the Mt Peak Vanadium project.
You just reminded me of the diversity and vast hidden potential of TNG in the very long term. For now, PB and team are doing great work focusing on the Mt Peak V2O5, TiO2 and Fe project. Would be too easy to get distracted - don't mention Mt Hardy......lol
