I believe ASX experience alone is overrated. What does that really mean? If you're a director of any company you have the same fiduciary duty to shareholders, creditors and the company you have as a director of any company. The only difference with an ASX listed company is there is much more documented compliance and disclosure required because of the ASX listing rules. There are normally many support professionals (lawyers/accountants etc.) engaged to make sure these rules are complied with.
To judge a person's capability based solely on ASX board experience is inappropriate.
