I find this concept of these people being victims rather moronic. I agree the banks probably should have done some more due diligence before lending but it clearly sounds like the brokers were doing dodgy things. Also given that the borrower took on the loan then they must be a complete financial illiterate and pretty much an idiot for taking on the loan in the first place - they are just as much to blame as the dodgy loan broker IMHO and are far from being victims. These people need to take responsibility for their own part in this action and as such should ware the consequence but as usual someone else must be to blame!
