Chevron has broken cover with its Beach deal. The deal puts pressure on other majors to do deals with other companies in the Cooper or miss out.

It's risky to not have your foot on some ground in the Cooper basin as part of your global portfolio. It's risky to wait till Gladstone plant completion, when long term gas supply becomes centre stage and more competitively sought, before securing a resource.

Anyone talking about a third train at Gladstone yet? I'll bet some of the majors are exploring it as an opportunity.
