Good one redrun. Your comparisons with other companies cannot be under estimated. In fact, I'll go further, when you said that the (difference) was that "sure they had the resources in the ground." With the terms of this GSA, there is already no doubt that "the resource IS in the ground." With all the proven gas all over Qld and the Cooper Basin screaming for a home, just lying there worthless to its owners with no markets, Icon could service that GSA as soon as the LNG plants are capable of processing the gas.
Am certain that Icon will not be in any danger of the ability to supply clause by 31 march 2013.

But, it is all about how much money Icon will make out of this, they are not doing it to be good guys to the Chinese or to bail out their less prudent "peers."
So, THE number 1 target for Icon is to "launch the most vigorous drilling programme in Icon's history, commencing in April in 626." Then in 855 in June/July". RJ truly believes that Icon has all of that 2TCF AND MORE, in its own leases.
He will only be taking expressions of interest from others as a prudent safeguard, but, you can bet that he will also be sourcing gas that has already been proven but just sitting there without a market. Small, normally uncommercial, quantities, when combined, will provide a lucrative and MUCH CHEAPER feedstock to having to drill and prove up all of the reserves themselves and its owners will be delighted to get anything to get rid of it. Worthless to them otherwise.
Nobody, other than Icon, is going to get top dollar out of this deal, but, there will be a large number wanting to hang on to our coat tails. Like the kid with no mates in the school yard who gets a new footy and suddenly they all want to be his mate.
Icon can now deal with the top echelon of O&G companies in Oz and the so called "peers", with many times our current MC, but, with no sales contracts, will be lucky to pick up scraps that fall off the banquet table.
THIS IS A MAJOR COMPANY MAKER. The market will come to realize that in its own good time, but, it can no longer be denied, no matter how hard people try.
