O-rings are not new technology, they have been used in the plumbing industry for over 100 years, so as a method of sealing they have proven their service value and performance. I understand some “hard” joint compression systems also use an o-ring as a backup to ensure long term sealing.

As an investor, I raised your concern with RWC and their response was, Sharkbite products have been used widely around the world now for 17 years with no issues of deterioration of the o-ring.
