IMO the dump at the end was due to two things:
1) Overall market went down
2) The fact that the media has been building expectations of an announcement early this week. I think a lot of investors got on board to try to catch the wave up over last few trading days and when the announcement didn't come today, they jumped ship. Fear and uncertainty rules again.
In the end. it seems GG does not keep to market expectations and his timing is his own, so no point on trying to pick when or how.
