Good points bargearse - but surely, as a former small business owner - you must know the problems caused to all small business by bureaucrats and 'red tape' and bigger (even multinational) rivals trying to do their best to send you broke, without actually appearing to do any such thing. i.e the "Nothing to do with us mate. We can run at a loss for the next 10 years and HQ won't even notice that we are undercutting our rivals to survive".
In the case of OBL, it is a small business and it IS at the mercy of the public servants and the Native Titles Tribunal. Until that legal issue is legally decided, OBL is at the mercy of everyone who wants to give it a 'kick to the googlies' so to speak. How can OBL make forward plans until this legal issue is determined in the courts??
It is one week off 5 (five) months since a judge said this matter could go to determination. The people making these company changing (in either direction) decisions have almost certainly never run a business, or had to balance the books, let alone answer to shareholders, or employees.
So please, bear that in mind (everyone) and let's hope the WA Govt puts a proverbial rocket up the Native Titles Tribunal (as 'newregime' seemed to indicate they were prepared to do). Real world livelihoods and investments are at risk here, while we wait for these 'decision makers' to put their A into G.
