I don't think we've seen any 'crisis' yet - we have certainly seen weather extreme devastation on many countries and continents -
and we talk using the word 'crisis' -------- but, I think for most - it's all too far off or somewhere else in a huge way - unless you are in a caravan after storm damage in SEQ or Cairns or Lismore
I suspect that the next 2 years might really bring the reality into focus - like trying to read a book without one's reading glasses - then, someone gives you a new pair from the pharmacy and you get an 'oh gosh' moment
I don't believe we can have these block busting temperatures of the last few years without some kind of major shit hitting the fan
and I don't mean to downplay things like a third of Pakistan underwater or the Canadian fires, or the fires in Texas or Hawaii --------- they are bad and bad enough
but, I think that there's a more likely than less likely chance of far greater catastrophe looming - I don't think we can get this level of rapid temperature rise and not have some massive extremes show up ------------ who knows what - massive droughts in a La Nina - a monster hurricane season for the north hemisphere ----- maybe a big or a couple of big cyclones for Oz - certainly if we get a La Nina later this year - Oz east coast is a sitting duck for major floods again - and perhaps a lot bigger than before
there are too many signs, too much evidence - unless this planet isn't as fragile as it seems - then, one should at least plan for some serious happenings
the job of a storm is to correct instability - and, by god - there is instability atm that wouldn't have been believed 50 years back - IMO - the planet will respond
and when that happens - what we know from history is that it's wise to get out of the way
whilst some talk of crisis ------- most don't sense crisis - I call it the peanut perception for many
