Today AFR news article release that the Morgan Stanley kicks off Investa sale.
Around $2.5 billion worth are owned by MSREF VI, in its own right. The rest are owned by the listed Investa Office Fund – after a great run now capitalised at $2.5 billion –and the unlisted, institutional, $2.8 billion Investa Commercial Property Fund.
Just to complicate the picture, MSREF VI owns a substantial stake in the Investa Office Fund, and all the management of the two funds.
Years ago, MSREF VI gave the listed Investa Office Fund the right to buy that management platform, and go its own way. Such a platform could be worth as much as $200 million.
MSREF VI, which is being advised by UBS and Morgan Stanley, is expected to sell off its own assets first and then move on to sell the management.
But even that is not simple. There are pre-emptive rights within the group.
