We read about huge gains in wheat, sugar, tin and tungsten along with gold, silver and platinum. But none have approached (let alone equalled) the gains made by cotton over the past 18 months. Cotton has tripled in price in less than 2 seasons!! Tin and wheat have more than doubled but cotton remains top-dog. Last night rose limit-up to an eye-watering 187.58c/lb. That's $935/bale which is a substantial increase on sub-$300 level 18 months ago. Unfortunately many growers locked-in waaaay too early and in areas with poor yields farmers will be forced to buy on-mkt to fufill contract obligations. TAN and PAG will do well in 2011 but with full storages they can fwd sell 2012 crop at gigantic record high prices, Buy imo.
