While rhetoric was predictable, the body language of both leaders was interesting during the debate. The Prime Minister spoke generally off the cuff, while the Leader and Deputy Leader of the Opposition referred to notes from time to time. The Prime Minister, apart from a brief chat with Steven Smith, faced her opponents with polite attention and no apparent rancour. The Leader of the Opposition on the other hand turned his back on the Prime Minister during both her responses; apart from a brief period of 'normal' civility he ignored with a degree of ill manners and lack of decorum and procedure unbecoming to an aspirant to the highest job in the land.
I have no view regarding the politics; issues should be judged on merits, not party agendas. Having said that I was not impressed with the Deputy Leader of the Opposition. Where are you Malcolm?
