A day is a long time in politics, so opposing posts about the possibility of a no confidence motion are just so much theory.
On the other hand, there is a good case for the desirability of a NCM and equally good reasons to hope that it would succeed. In that case there would almost certainly be an election. A conservative government would no doubt replace the impossible radical knife edge arrangement where Bob Brown calls the shots.
By next year there could well be a double dissolution to weed out the green senate misfits.
