I agree on this comment, "individuals should refrain from frightening people with opinions that by their very nature generate scary headlines, but that fail to transpire."
A classic example was this article from March 2008, just as house prices peaked on the Sunshine Coast;
"..amid predictions the region's property market could surge by more than 30% in the next five years..
..one of the nation's leading economic forecasters, BIS Shrapnel, predicted property prices would grow by up to 40% nationally, including on the [Sunshine] Coast."

Such scare campaigns lured a lot of young first home buyers into the market at the worst possible time. House prices on the Sunshine Coast have actually fallen about 30% from those record highs since that article was published. How wrong they were. Shame on them and their fellow property spruikers.
