    From ABC news....

The Macquarie and Deutsche banks and other parties have been unable to reach agreement on a way to help retail investors who owe millions of dollars to BrisConnections.

BrisConnections is building the $4.8 billion AirportLink project in Brisbane and is fully underwritten by the banks.

Some investors who bought into the company when shares fell below a cent say they were not made aware they were liable to pay further instalments totalling $2 a share.

BrisConnections says it is disappointed with the lack of progress, but says Macquarie is doing all it can to get reach a deal with Deutsche that will scrap the need for the next instalment due later this month.

Shareholders will decide whether to wind up the company at a meeting in Brisbane next week.

The LNP this week called on the State Government to announce its contingency plan for the project.

Premier Anna Bligh has said the Government will not let the project fall over, but she will not say if public money will be used.
