MELBOURNE, June 30 (Reuters) - Australia's Lynas Corp said it still expects to start production at its Malaysian rare earths plant by the end of 2011, while also meeting all 10 health and safety recommendations from an international panel.
"We believe the plant will be commissioned by the end of 2011," Executive Chairman Nicholas Curtis told reporters on Thursday.
An International Atomic Energy Agency panel outlined recommendations for Lynas and the Malaysian government to meet ahead of operations starting at the plant in the state of Pahang.
"We expect to deliver some product to customers in the first half of 2012," he said. (Reporting by Sonali Paul; Editing by Ed Davies)
