Sorry mate but they ARE responsible for the share price. That's what they're paid to deliver on. If they muck about and deliver nothing the share price goes down, based on the fact that the company is not performing and people will pull their money out. And on the flip side; if they're growing the business and the company is going places, people want in on the action and the share price goes up.
Back on topic - IMO they are delivering and should be rewarded with the options. It's incentive to deliver greater results. Everyone wins.
