no forum for old mods - xjo tuesday

Having been moderated over the weekend I couldn't resist a tribute to the mods.

[BLUEY VOICE OVER]

I was a moderator of this forum
when I was 25 years old.

Hard to believe.

My grandfather was a mod. Father too.

Me and him was mods at the same
time, him up at Share Seen and me out here.

I think he's pretty proud of that.

I know I was.

Some of the old-time mods
never had to moderate.

Folks find that hard to believe.

Fluffynymph never did.

Dub wouldn't moderate
when he was out there at TopStocks.

I always liked to hear
about the old-timers.

Never missed a chance to do so.

You can't help but compare yourself
against the old-time moderators.

Can't help but wonder
how they'd have operated these times.

There's this poster I had suspended on the PRR thread a while back.

My arrest and my testimony.

He was on the wrong end of a pump and dump.

Said if we turned him out,
he'd do it again. Flaming.

Said he knew he was going to the cooler....
be there in about 15 minutes.

I don't know what to make of that.

I sure do don't.

The posts you see now,
it's hard to even take their measure.

It's not that I'm afraid of em.

I always knew you had to be willing
to moderate to even do this job.

But I don't want to push
my chips forward and go out.

...and meet something I don't understand.

A man would have
to put his soul at hazard.

He'd have to say, "OK.
I'll be part of this forum."

A tribute to the mods... without them there would be complete anarchy on HC.
Hopefully this will bring a smile to even the most ruthless of posters.
