I'm around about here too. I have no issues with nuclear energy per say, but even if this became an inextricable bipartisan endeavour this afternoon, we wouldn't commission our first reactor until around 2050, and it wouldn't overcome its own opportunity costs for a few decades after that. Our best chance of going nuclear was when former Prime Minister Howard was chasing it up, I think late 90's? It would almost be comissionable about now, but I think that horse has probably bolted.
