I think the private company SERCO run the detention centres and are making a motza for themselves out of all this.
They are. Figures easily acessible on google. I assume they won the tender that the govenment would have put out. They have failed to comply with some Australian accounting Standards. In contravention of the Corporations Act they have been late in filing statements for last two years.
Serco also manages ports and defence bases for the government and provides no breakdown for each division.
Given the government's management record, a lot of questions are raised.
