acceptance is often a mental defence - the mind wants to convince itself in a hopeless situation
many Jews would have been just like many people in the cafe at Port Arthur
even with a man in the room with a gun going from table to table shooting people -
many people just sat there waiting
it's what many of us do ----------- have a look at some air show crashes into the crowds - you see many people just standing - frozen - watching it all unfold - whilst some others are running like mad
noone sat at the table at Port Arthur and didn't move away because they knew they were safe ------- their brain was affected by chemicals which made them paralysed
that's us - jews getting on trains would not be dissimilar - not the same - but, not dissimilar

living in a man made drain in europe and being told to move every few days or you get eviction and boat seized , is your view of total freedom ? being told what to do, where to go , all the time bet you like having a cuppa with your neighbours and hear them whinge about licencing fees and constant impingement of their privacy by the local government.
