    yes Rana McIntyre is a learned authority among several others in epidemiology. And the point she makes is what I wrote earlier on this thread. She was among my resources.

    there will be no return to normal, obviously.... the nation will always be on our toes about infection for at least a decade, much similar to the vigilance that was born out of the HIV epidemics in the 80/90s when Hep C as well as B came to be recognised and treated (HIV provided many new drugs which were found to have broad applications against other viruses).

    the new normal will eventually become accepted as normal though....

    I never accepted noisy or polluted air from the 60s on.... hence I've chosen to live where its quiet and the air is clean. I tried living in Sydney once --- I didn't last long.

    good luck to all who live in the city and love it - I wish I could because I lose access to so much art, live music and discussion groups, theatre etc.
