We hardly need another report to tell us what most thinking people around the knew about Iraq under Saddam. He didn't tolerate any extremist organisations, religious or otherwise, any would have been a threat to his authority and he was the wests best ally in the ME when it came to combating such extremists groups. We may not have liked what he had to do to maintain control but I have a sneaking suspicion that they are a lot more people who now understand what he was up against than are willing to admit it.
